A photocopied printout of my blog landed on my desk at HKC this afternoon because I'd mentioned the Ashkenaz Festival, and our clippings person found it, presumably by Googling, and clipped it, and sent it to us for me to catalogue and file.
Now obviously this page is public, but for this blog I had sort of developed this picture in my mind of myself writing specifically for an audience of nine or ten friends and their extended families. Probably fewer people than I hope, but more people than I know.
Is it possible though that I've inadvertently been communicating with all my past and future employers? I'm not really interested in writing under a pseudonym. I'm not chronicling anything mushy enough to warrant the secrecy. But there is something distinctly eerie in finding yourself in a clippings file, having written something specifically clippings un-targeted.
